Experience With Nonprofits

"Peggy also has a deep personal commitment to social change, and grasps how the dynamics within organizations fit within the greater political context. She is simply one of the best."
-
Lee Sullivan, Board of Directors, Center for Wildlife. Cape Neddick, ME

Peggy Kieschnick, MSW, ACSW has almost 30 years of experience in the world of nonprofits. Her direct service and administrative experience included work with adult ex-offenders, victims of crime, pregnant teens, and AIDS prevention education. She has a particular passion for domestic violence prevention, social justice, and a systems approach to understanding change.

This training, experience and commitment have given Peggy a base of understanding of the unique strengths, needs and issues of nonprofits and those they serve. What's more, she believes in the importance of what they do!

A facilitator and consultant for more than ten years, Peggy has been privileged to work with scores of nonprofits on such things as strategic planning, board development, grant writing, and program evaluation.

"[Peggy] brings to the task a strong understanding of how
non-profits need to function in the real world,
and she always took the time and trouble to really find out
about the specific groups, organizations, and individuals
she was working with…and then worked with us to
get us to where we wanted to go in the
context of the reality we were already in."

Experience With Schools

As the daughter, granddaughter, niece, and partner of teachers, principals and a professor, Peggy has literally grown up in the world of educators.

As a professional, she has been fortunate enough to work with pre-school, elementary, middle and high school staff and administrators on a variety of projects including early childhood education, dating violence prevention, curriculum mapping, family literacy, and leadership development.

These experiences not only helped her to increase her facilitation, consultation and training skills, but have also given her a unique window on the extraordinary strengths of teachers and schools and of the sometimes overwhelming pressures and obstacles they face in this day and age.

"I have known Peggy in a professional capacity for over 8 years and have found her to be consistently excellent in her consultant services. … She has worked with many different constituencies within the Dover School District with a high level of success and professionalism. …
Peggy is by far one of the most skilled facilitators I have ever worked with, no exceptions..... "

Experience With Collaborations

If you have been a part of a collaboration you know that they can be both a blessing and a curse! They can be time-consuming and aggravating. They can also be rewarding, productive and powerful. Peggy's years of experience with a variety of collaborations have provided her with a practical understanding of what it takes to make collaborations work.

"I've been in 3 or 4 collaborations that have worked with Peggy as facilitator, organizational development consultant, project coordinator and pretty much chief bottle washer. In all of those roles she has consistently gone beyond the expected to tackle a wide range of functions, issues, and concerns in a way that had everyone involved feeling good about the outcome. She has managed to get people with sharp philosophical differences, personality conflicts, and easily-bruised egos to work together in a constructive and professional manner, even when some of them were dragged kicking and screaming into the process."
